Another great place to save money is at Dollar Stores and Discount Stores. Dollar Stores and Discount stores also accept coupons. Some stores even have their own coupons which can be stacked with manufacturer’s coupons.

::Rain Check Policy
Target will issue rain checks on out-of-stock items, except gift card promotions. You can receive your rain check at customers service. Target rain checks expire 45 days after issue and are good on the item stated, unless otherwise noted.
Some rain checks are good on substitute items if you see the text “choose a substitute” at the bottom. With substitute item rain checks, you can select a similar, regular-priced item and get the same percent discount.
Sometimes, when an item is sold out, associates may place a tearpad or rain check notice where the item was on the shelf. Make sure to tear this tearpad slip off and take it to customer service to get your rain check. The tearpad slip is not a rain check.
::Target Markdown Schedule
Target has a national markdown schedule. Watch the end caps of aisles for marked down, clearance, and discounted items. Mark downs take place every two weeks and items will continue to be marked down every two weeks until sold or reaches 75%. Target rarely marks non-holiday items lower than 75%.
TARGET’s WEEKLY MARKDOWN SCHEDULE
Monday – Infants, Kids Clothes and Electronics.
Tuesday – Women’s Clothes and Domestics.
Wednesday – Men’s Clothes, Garden, Toys, Health and Beauty
Thursday – Lingerie, Shoes, Housewares, Sporting Goods, Luggage
Friday – Cosmetics, Hardware, Auto, Home Improvement and Jewelry
TARGET’s AFTER HOLIDAY SCHEDULE:
All holidays except Christmas follow the 3-3-2 rule:
The first 3 days after the holiday are 50% OFF.
The next 3 days are 75% OFF.
The next 2 days are 90% OFF.
After that it goes to salvage.
Below are some examples:

::WalMart FAQS
Why is there a price difference between Walmart stores?
Prices may vary from store to store because each store is required to manage its own inventory. Therefore, a manager may lower a price to clear out an overstock item, to reward customers with an in-store sale, or to compete with local merchants. It is not our policy to price match our own stores or our online service since we are not in competition with ourselves.
If you would like more information on pricing policy, you may contact your local store management.
