Celebrating The Season With Church Window Cookies

by ClipperGirl on December 21, 2012

One of my fondest memories as a child was baking cookies and making fudge at Christmas with my mom and sister.  In memory of them and in celebration of the season, I will be sharing some old and new Christmas favorites with you.

Whether you are sharing them with your family and friends, giving them as gifts or taking them to a cookie swap, you’re sure to enjoy each days recipe.

Church Window Cookies

1 12 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 lb. butter
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 10 oz. pkg. colored miniature marshmallows

1.  In a medium saucepan, combine the chocolate chips and butter and stir until melted.
2.  Let the mixture cool so the marshmallows don’t melt.  When cool, add in nuts and marshmallows.  Stir until the nuts and marshmallows are covered in chocolate.
3.  Sprinkle coconut on a sheet of waxed paper.  Spoon the chocolate mixture in a long strip onto the waxed paper.  Sprinkle more on top.  Wrap the log in the waxed paper and refrigerate until firm.  Slice and serve!
